"Elemental manipulation isn't a thing most people can do. Mages can, but they're not common at all and tend to hide. Children of the gods are the more common ones who can manipulate elements, but it depends on what their parent is the god of. Like I can see ghosts and manipulate ice, but my mother is a death goddess from a people who live in colder regions in my world."

Naming her wouldn't be helpful here, though it's not like she's the most well-known of the pantheon, either.
