Furina crosses her arms. Okay, clearly 'this one' doesn't know the polite overtures of court life--when one offers you a polite way to rethink and rephrase a prior statement, you take it.

Well. Furina's not above being mean. She's not Fontaine's most practiced prosecutor for nothing.

"Monsieur," she says, dry as the desert that borders Fontaine and Sumeru, "I have stood as prosecutor and witness to thousands of trials in my five hundred years. I have heard every excuse you could think of from men desperate to escape a guilty verdict. Whatever your theory is, I assure you: I have heard worse. Now, please, do your best to shock me--and do not seek to insult me again by implying your mere thoughts are enough to drive me to upset."
